Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) proposes that psychological problems are partly based in unhelpful thought patterns. This type of therapy helps clients recognize problem-causing distortions, deepen their understanding of the behavior of those around them, and use problem-solving skills to cope with difficult situations. Ultimately, CBT helps clients build confidence while helping them change their behaviors for the better. At Quest Recovery Center, we customize our CBT plans to directly address the unique needs of each client.
Licensed & Certified Counselors
Our specialists are licensed and certified counselors, which uniquely equips them to help clients seeking to overcome substance addiction. This in-depth training gives our counselors the knowledge and skills to address the challenges our clients face on their roads to recovery. Our licensing certification trains us to:
- Diagnose chemical dependency
- Treat chemical dependency
- Provide treatment planning, assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, case management, and education services
Understanding the “Reward Circuit”
Both psychosocial and physical factors contribute to drug addiction. In a phenomenon commonly referred to as the “Reward Circuit,” chemical receptors in the brain adjust and react to certain substances and interactions to produce what we feel as emotion. Recreational and prescription drug use can alter how these receptors behave, making the brain feel happier, more relaxed, or energized. However, the brain is reshaped by addiction, and the mind can suffer symptoms such as pain, depression, and anxiety when withdrawal occurs.
At Quest Recovery Center, we employ leading counseling techniques in conjunction with Medication-Assisted Treatment as a key instrument for improving the chances of long-term success for clients. Our counseling approach utilizes a customized, comprehensive treatment plan that considers each client's particular requirements and circumstances. Recovery is unique, so our solutions have to be as well.
Linking Other Habitual Activities and Addiction
When it comes to the counseling side of addiction treatment, the experts at Quest Recovery Center put a lot of time and effort into understanding the link between general habits and drug addiction. In reality, at its most basic neurological level, drug addiction is not much different from any other habit — such as waking up at the same time every day. We've seen evidence of this on many occasions and have used the knowledge we've gathered to aid in our treatment approach. Some examples include chain-smokers quitting cigarettes by replacing the act with the habit of chewing straws or alcohol-addicted individuals replacing their hard beverages with soda water at the times they would normally drink during the day.
